MUSIC-- June 17 2008
What has happened this week in music,...
First Katy Perry! holla! 'One of the Boys' was sold out at grey whale on 4500 south cause I was lucky enough to buy the last one, at 10:30 in the morning on the same day it came out, did I not say she would blow up? Right now her album on iTunes is number 4, while 'i kissed a girl' is the number one song download on iTunes.
Next, Viva La Vida by Coldplay... what can I say, It is awesome, I've listened to the whole album about 5 times today and have no plans to stop. It flows so well, his voice is amazing and for once I don't feel gay listening to Coldplay. It is just muey bueno. Number 1 album on iTunes right now as well.
VALIENT THORR - IMMORTALIZER!!! if I only knew how to put lightning bolts in my text-- thats how I would describe Valient Thorr itself, let alone the new album.... How these dudes recorded this thing and wrote all the tracks? I dunno, from the year 2004 to now, they have toured about 250 days out of the american year. With producer Jack Endino (Hot Hot Heat, Nirvana...) you just have to listen know its quality work. Be a THORRIOR and get the album.
Lil' Wayne, sold over a million copies of 'Tha Carter III' in the first week, he sold more that kanYe. kanYe only sold 956,000 in the first week.. Mad props to Lil' Wayne... How he some how did it, i dunno, but I do have respect for him. I am glad that he doesn't think he is head-hauncho like 50 cent, and all gang bang, but I really don't know how good his album really is... if you know, drop a comment.

The Love Chair
Pharrell Williams introduces to the world... The "Perspective"
.....“I had often wondered what it’s like to truly be in love, not lust for once..So I decided not to ask what it was like in someone else’s shoes or what it was like to sit in their seat..I decided to sketch out my own experiment; the perspective chair.” Pharrell Williams

MTV / TRL / Shwayze
The link/pic doesn't work, so don't bother, but this friday, make sure you check it out on MTV's TRL.... Shwayze, and go vote for 'buzzin' on the video countdown via MTV...
bummer...
This explains everything, gas, economy, and the world in itself. What can I do, what can you do, what can we do, honestly, the only good thing that has happened in the past couple of days... my car got back into, and it got totaled, so now I get a check from their insurance company...
trippin out.
Seriously. This is Art.
These walls/forms of art/graffiti is dope, these photos are rad, and the ideas behind these art pieces is pure intelligent.
Buzzin'
As summer is just around the corner, aside from this freezing/raining/cold weather we are experiencing in Utah, Music is getting heard... I remember it was probably around my 2nd or 3rd post I ever did on the blog back in October and it was Shwayze, Cisco & Skeet performing... To me they were already big and big things were happening. Now, They are all over the radio, having interviews right and left, and people are finally getting the good news about SHWAYZE.... Finally, people will know who I'm talking about, I really have been waiting what seemed like forever for these guys to make things happen, to do work, and its all goin down as we speak. Along those same lines, I remember telling you about Katy Perry and how dope she is, her first single 'ur so gay' was a hit, but not as big as what is being played right now, 'i kissed a girl'... that song is blowin' up!... The best part about this whole thing is the fact that both of them will be on warped tour... rap and pop music, on a generally all punk/rock scene... this will be like the best of 2 worlds this summer.. I know it. Katy Perry's album 'one of the boys' is being released next week and shwayze's self titled album a little short of a month later will be released to... Go pick em up, enjoy and remember, you heard from me how good/talented these people really are...
Around the middle of the summer, the Shwayze reality show will be airing on MTV, make sure you check that out... If it was anthing like Cisco/Whitestarr's 'the rock life' I'm sure it will be all about the good times to be had by all in the promised land of LA and Malibu and the pleasures of being treated like a rockstar/celeb.
Warped Tour will also have, The Color Fred, Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship, and mucho mas...
