Uh Ohhhz
New Yearz - Pt. II
Its a new decade, yet I feel as if yesterdays tomorrow is here. To go over the top high lights of the past decade would be cliche and typical. So I will briefly do something along those lines. The fact that 10 years ago I was only in 6th grade and just learning how to work the internetz and a computer for that fact, I have learned to love certain things. So these certain things can be related to music and what type of music I was into at the time. I swear, every year I changed what type of music I listened to, which makes me appreciate what music I listen to these days. To start off with the early years of the past decade; I would always watch the box growing up, so the fake MTV wannabe sold out and left me music less. I started out by loving the Californication album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. So great, made me love alternative music. Then insert my best friend, Hema, he brought something in my life that made my junior high years so weird. He brought rap music into my life, along with the hip hop lifestyle and break dancing. Yes, confession, I took break dancing lessons for 2 years and listened to rap. wow. Along with junior high came, wait for it, sports. Yes I liked sports, wow times two. I played basketball for the junior high team and thought I was on top of the world. Now to high school where I thought I knew who I was. Trying to find myself, I again turned to Hema as he introduced me to one of my saving graces, Taking Back Sunday. I went from listening to Nelly and 2Pac to the emo/punk scene of TBS. Along with this new outlook on music/life I grew my hair out and tried to become the rockstar I've always wanted to be while trying to continue what I started by playing all 3 years of high school football. Gross. The next stage/music scene in my life I came to appreciate the acoustic surf scene with acts like Jack Johnson, Tristan Prettyman and such. I dreamed about being in an alternate life of dealing with the ocean everyday. Obviously, didn't happen. Whatevs. But I'm over it, So on to the next stage of my life, after high school, I worked one of my most favorite jobs for Anderson Tile. I learned a lot about myself that year and a half of being away from my family and friends and just working. My iPod was prolly my bestest friend with out a doubt. After that ended I called up my favorite immigrant, mi amigo, Benjamin Lopez and we took on Salt Lake Community College and conquered what was ours for the taking. Community college education will always have a place in my heart foreverz. Now insert Delta Spirit, the indie music scene was what I needed. So great. During my appreciation for the folk music and SLCC I took the best class of my life, Decade of the 60s. The more I went to school trying to figure out what interested me, I kept falling back on one thing, Design. Art. Freedom. Which leads me to where I am right now, sitting here trying to blog and say something interesting to read. Along with these 10 years of life and music under my belt, I look to the next 10 years of whatever. Who knows, maybe I'll try to grow up or something.

Skeet's New Addition...
... Is Killing It!
My main, main blog is eatskeet.com. Solid blog, solid authors that post. The blog itself has had some guest authors that made it pretty bueno. Some name dropping would include, Cisco Adler, Katy Perry, Sarah Morrison, & Rony. But as of late, Skeet was the only regular that posted anything. Until about a week ago when he made two additions to the blog. He brought in 2 new guest authors into our world. The one I am impressed with the most so far in the few post she has posted have brought something to the table that are worth noting.
Any ways, her name is Adri, and Skeet introduces her as so:
She’s in a band called SHEEEP that is really good. She has an obsession with thrift shopping and animal tails. She’s a photographer and is a mini cobrasnake when ron and mark are globetrotting the world and need someone to take photoz. She also models sometimes and basically that completes her title as “girl that makes kids from midwest move to LA in hopes of being model/ musician/artist type.”
Now that you are familiar, I must catch you up on what she has posted. First worthy mention, these pictures she took and scanned in the negatives. srs. She now has street credit. As if she didn't have enough in the first place to become an author on eatskeet.

I don't know what I'm more excited about. The fact that Shwayze has been on my playlists for a year now, its almost as if I'm over it already. But I've listened to him and blogged about him too many times to just throw in the towel and give up now. As for the Japanese Motors, this is just a single being released with only 3 songs, never-the-less, I'm stoked on it. Should be a big day for music but we'll see. RVCA should be proud of their talent that they sponsor... should be a proud day for them too. word.

WARPED TOUR:
First off... Why Ee Es. YES. Warped tour was dope. First things first.
The first band that I watched by choice would be The Color Fred. Man that dude is old, but none the less... Next was none other than Shwayze.. Awesome performance and everything about it was just as good as you could ask for. After the Shwayze set I went on over to his booth to get some pics and get the signing stuff done with. Man Cisco is such a radical dood. I never thought that I would get to meet him, shwayze or skeet, but guess what people, I did. 
After all that I checked out Cobra Starship, That set was just as good as the last time I saw them, wait actually it was better, A) because Metro Station wasn't there, and B) cause We The Kings weren't either... And there was a ton more people... And what made me even more stoked, the one song they have ft. Travy from Gym Class Heroes and William Beckett from The Academy Is; Bring It/Snakes on a Plane was epic. Both of them joined Cobra Starship and made the performance that much better.
During the last song of Cobra Starship, I headed over the the Skull Candy tent to watch the acoustic set of Shwayze, that was rad and Cisco called me out in between songs saying I looked like I was from Dogtown and I was Tony Alva's sisters friend... whatevs, compliment none the less. When the set was over I hung out and talked with them some more and got to talk one on one with Cisco and Skeet. Skeet ended up hooking me up with a pair of Shwayze/Skull Candy headphones and Cisco gave me his Banana Beats pick. I almost got the blue and white RVCA hat from Shwayze but no bueno on that one becky.
When all the fun from that died out I checked out KATY PERRY. She is so fine. Her music live is a lot more hard core than I thought it would be, which made things even better. She is pretty sassy on stage and said it how it was. I liked that. During the middle of her set Cisco and Shwayze came out to perform with her and I'm glad I saw it. Awesomenesssss!!.
That about wraps up the day of fun filled music and meeting people that I rock out to on a daily basis and some of my life goals have been completed.

As summer is just around the corner, aside from this freezing/raining/cold weather we are experiencing in Utah, Music is getting heard... I remember it was probably around my 2nd or 3rd post I ever did on the blog back in October and it was Shwayze, Cisco & Skeet performing... To me they were already big and big things were happening. Now, They are all over the radio, having interviews right and left, and people are finally getting the good news about SHWAYZE.... Finally, people will know who I'm talking about, I really have been waiting what seemed like forever for these guys to make things happen, to do work, and its all goin down as we speak. Along those same lines, I remember telling you about Katy Perry and how dope she is, her first single 'ur so gay' was a hit, but not as big as what is being played right now, 'i kissed a girl'... that song is blowin' up!... The best part about this whole thing is the fact that both of them will be on warped tour... rap and pop music, on a generally all punk/rock scene... this will be like the best of 2 worlds this summer.. I know it. Katy Perry's album 'one of the boys' is being released next week and shwayze's self titled album a little short of a month later will be released to... Go pick em up, enjoy and remember, you heard from me how good/talented these people really are...
Around the middle of the summer, the Shwayze reality show will be airing on MTV, make sure you check that out... If it was anthing like Cisco/Whitestarr's 'the rock life' I'm sure it will be all about the good times to be had by all in the promised land of LA and Malibu and the pleasures of being treated like a rockstar/celeb.

This Weekend...
... and I don't live in LA, and I work, and my sumer is ruined cause someone put me on the schedule to work June 28, warped tour, so that means I won't be going. If you wanna know how I really feel, just ask me.... and you'll regret it later. WT flippin F. So if your hiring and you can work around my schedule cause I need the June 28 off... Please let me know.

Hipster Chain.
The other day while at work someone asked me if the guitar pick on my necklace was from somebody famous. Sadly, I said no. Then she goes on about how she has a pick from some girl rockstar and she claims the pick is worth about 10-large on eBay. So I've decided to make myself sound cool. So the new story is that it belonged to Kurt Cobain at one point. I'll think of a more detailed story later that is believable. If you ask why I'm wearing a hipster chain. Well, I guess you can say I'm a wanna be hipster. Well what can you do? I am conforming to the hipster world of the people who refuse to conform to everything else. Not being cliche is being cliche.

Cupid's Chokehold is such a good song and the fact that the video happens to be bawlin is awesome. Katy Perry is bangin and the roll she plays as the better new girlfriend is just testament of how perfect she really is.
